Dementia, loss of capacity and domestic violence.
I recently posted up about elder abuse and the prevalence of it being perpetrated by family members. So it was with some curiosity that I read the attached article detailing the apparent connection between domestic violence and acquired brain injuries. But more specifically how head injuries caused through acts of domestic violence may cause dementia. Frontline advocates are calling for research into the issue citing evidence from the USA as to the correlation between sports related head injuries and the incidence of dementia.
