I have a friend who was arrested for Driving under the influence with a 0.078 low range PCA. I have to attend court next month and I need to know if he will get a criminal conviction for this, or if he can just go with an infringement instead as he is just a first year student from overseas.  This is his first offence with drink driving. 

He's decided to do the traffic offenders program before the court hearing and will be pleading guilty. My friend also plans to stay in Australia, and he's currently doing his construction management. His concern is about his job prospects here in Australia after completing his degree, along with his PR and overseas travel visa applications.
