Can I legally get out of a mortgage?

I signed a mortgage over my farm because I was getting legal advice about some criminal charges against me and the lawyers wanted me to put the money in trust to pay legal fees. Now I don't want to pay them because I didn't get any advice from anyone about whether I should actually take out a mortgage over my house. Can I get out of the mortgage?
