Eileen has been a lawyer for nearly thirty years in Scotland and Australia. She has practiced in a wide range of civil matters. Admitted in Victoria in 1993, Eileen has extensive experience in workplace relations and discrimination having practiced exclusively in this area since 1996.
Eileen advises employers and employees on employment, termination, discrimination, harassment matters and on the implications of the recent amendments to the Privacy legislation. She also provides anti-discrimination training and conducts investigations into workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination.
A principle aim of Eileen’s practice is risk management for employers by the prudent use of tools such as employment contracts, Enterprise Agreements or Individual Flexibility Agreements, policies and training to minimise risk and maintain a productive workplace.
Eileen is a long-serving member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Workplace Relations Executive and was the chair of the Discrimination Sub-Committee. In May 2014, she received a Certificate of Service from the LIV for making a significant contribution to the LIV over a long period of time. She has a long history of involvement in community organisations including welfare rights, rape crisis and legal advice services.
