Michael Andersen founded Maelstrom Lawyers in January 2015 after working for almost a decade in two of Queensland's leading personal injury law firms Trilby Misso Lawyers and Slater & Gordon Lawyers.
Michael handled a complex portfolio ranging from faulty products, to workplace injuries, to injuries in public areas but his speciality was road traffic accidents.
In last decade Michael has not once been taken to trial with all of his matters resolving by agreement with the insurer. This includes highly complex matters where responsibility for the accident was in dispute, significant pre-existing injuries were present, absolute defences were raised by the insurer and so on.
It is through Michael's ability to deconstruct a complex situation and then piece it back together with evidence based, practical, real-life advice that helps insurers to thoroughly understand his client's claim and negates the need to progress to trial.
If you have been injured and you want practical, pragmatic, straight-talking advice then you should speak with Michael.
ILP Legal Practitioner Director
January, 2015 - Present
Michael Andersen is the Director of Maelstrom Lawyers and he handles the running of the personal injury files from the initial client interview all the way through to the settlement negotiations. This is important because it means you get a highly skilled experienced solicitor carefully looking over your claim from the very beginning.
In the final stages of the claim Michael will often get advice from an experienced barrister about the value of a client's claim or about complex aspects of who is most at fault for the particular incident.
Michael has found that a pragmatic, realistic and real-life approach to handling claims is the best way to ensure clients get a successful outcome.
