Scott Buchanan is the principal of Buchanan Law, a boutique commercial legal practice specialising in Intellectual Property, Technology and Business Law.
Scott has established a broad commercial legal practice over the past 18 years ranging from advising start-up technology businesses, acting in corporate mergers and acquisitions and advising clients on Competition and Consumer Law matters.
Scott also advises clients on trade marks, copyright, patents and confidential information matters including due diligence, licensing and litigation. Scott is dual qualified as a Lawyer and Registered Trade Marks Attorney and provides a comprehensive range of brand protection and enforcement services for his clients.
Scott has advised clients across a range of sectors including technology, education, manufacturing, consumer goods, biotechnology and business services. Scott also acts for other law firms and their clients as a trusted advisor on intellectual property and related cases.
Scott has extensive corporate in-house experience advising on a range of business acquisitions, regulatory matters and international joint ventures. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Scott also has a keen interest in advising clients on effective corporate governance.
