Wiiliam(Bill) Hazlett

I am a lawyer with more than 42 years experience. In 2011 I was awarded a certificate of service by the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) in recognition of my outstanding contribution to the legal profession.

I practise in the following areas:
- Estate planning, probate and administration of estates
- Business law (LIV accredited specialist)
- Commercial tenancy law (one of only 15 LIV accredited specialists)

I am highly regarded by my peers and clients for practical estate planning and asset protection advice. In 2012 I was admitted as a Chartered Tax Adviser of the Tax Institute. I advise about taxation aspects of business structures, probate and administration of estates, and draft wills including discretionary testamentary trusts, trust deeds, self managed superannuation fund deeds(SMSF's), limted recourse borrowing arrangements, corporate constitutions and shareholder and unitholder agreements.

My business law experience includes acting for clients ranging from the largest ASX listed national transport company to private individuals. I advise about transport law, commercial contracts, franchising, consumer law, sales and purchase of businesses, subcontractor arrangements, risk management and compliance.

I have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of property law including complex large scale developments. I am a member of the Executive Committee of the Property and Environmental Law Section of the LIV.

My expertise also includes Alpine law and I am experienced in the nuances of Crown land leases in all Victorian alpine resorts. I have represented the Victorian Ski Association (VSA), Mt Buller Ratepayers Association and Hotham Ski Association and am currently a VSA appointed member of a Committee tasked with implementing access and equity principles into the resorts.
